Projects and Activities

Our long running citizen science air quality monitoring project in Barnet and across London.

In 2025 we helped the Barnet Multi Faith Forum organise a Faith and Peace walk from Cockfosters to East Barnet that shone a light on the factors that changed the landscape from being part of the Middlesex Forest to being part of suburban London.

In early 2026, Sensemaking and Friends of the Earth Barnet organised a webinar to encourage people to use the iNaturalist app to record sightings of local nature  – an easy way to become a citizen scientist.

Sir Stamford Raffles, who was one of the founders of Singapore and of ZSL (Zoological Society of London), died at his home in High Wood Hill Barnet in 1826 aged 44 and was buried in St Mary’s Church Hendon. We produced a pamphlet about him.
